Following Worship

We believe that worship is an essential way we learn what it means to be a Christian.  By enabling children to worship with their families, and the larger church family, every Sunday, they learn that they belong to Christ and are welcome in His church.  They learn to know the Lord’s Prayer and other parts of the liturgy from memory.
 
They develop a wealth of memories on which to draw as they mature.  In addition to the enrichment they receive from the beauty of music and hymns, they hear stories from the Bible read and interpreted.  They are able to participate in communion and witness baptisms.  But most importantly they discover that they are loved and valued by God and by the people of God at church.

Infants and Toddlers

Childcare is available from 9:30 A.M. until 1:00 P.M.

Pre-School – Fifth Grade

Every month a theme or bible lesson is taught taking the children through exciting and fun weekly workshops.  The workshops vary each month, but may include; art, music, video, cooking, drama, science and games.  These workshops are designed to teach the lesson by engaging the children’s multiple intelligences.  The repetition of hearing the lesson for four weeks helps with retention and provides opportunities for in-depth discussion.

Sixth, Seventh and Eighth Grade

Using the curriculum “I Know My Bible”.  The students will develop a broad understanding of the bible, which will form a strong foundation.  This curriculum ties both Testaments together using fun activities and discussion.

Confirmation

In the fall of 2009 our Eighth and Ninth grade class will begin their confirmation class.  They will be confirmed in the spring following a daylong retreat.

The Crusaders: Ninth–Twelfth Grade

Led by Pastor Doyll Andrews the students are engaged in a weekly bible study and thought provoking discussion.  They also work on several mission activities throughout the year and attend a weekend retreat in the fall.
